Teacher’s Assistant – F/T (On-site)

The Children’s Center Programs of Monmouth County offers an unsurpassed program for children, ages 3-21, who need specialized programs of instruction due to their developmental and/or intellectual disability. We are presently looking for Teaching Assistants who work in conjunction with our school teachers to provide individualized attention to students with disabilities during individual and group sessions. You must have a high school diploma or acceptable equivalent to be considered for the position.

Duties of a Teaching Assistant include the following:
  • Work closely with the classroom teacher in implementing each student’s individualized service plan (ISP)
  • Maintain a good rapport with students, demonstrating enthusiasm and respect at all times
  • Identify and manage appropriate and inappropriate behaviors based on behavioral programs and individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Prepare and modify tasks and materials in order to remain consistent with the behavioral program, IEP, and classroom teacher’s direction
  • Maintain daily records and data to measure program effectiveness and mastery levels as required
  • Complete tasks and duties as they arise

    Custodians/Facilities Housekeeping (Part-Time)

    We are looking for part-time, Monday through Friday, 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm individuals to assist us with our General Housekeeping, Custodial, and Building Maintenance on our 10-acre campus.

    Teachers of the Handicapped

    Reports initially to a designated teacher(s) within the system who will serve as a mentor(s) in an effort to develop and prepare for being responsible for one’s own class. Implements Board policy regarding philosophy and curriculum under the direction of the Administration through planning, organizing, managing and interacting with students. Assists in the preparation and implementation of instructional objectives consistent with the IEP, instructional and/or curriculum guides. Relates with parents and community.

    School Nurse

    Must hold a valid New Jersey School Nurse certification. Have demonstrated expertise in school health nursing practice and emergency procedures. Possess knowledge of special needs children and development preferred and have the ability to communicate effectively with non-school health professionals, parents, social service agencies, teachers, staff, and administration.
